Daphne L. Richards

Independent Board Member

Daphne Richards is an Independent Member of Cartica’s Board of Directors and was named to the Board on August 31, 2015.

Ms. Richards is a senior investment professional in the asset management industry with over 22 years of direct hedge fund experience, with top-tier global financial services organizations.  Ms. Richards was most recently a Managing Director at Bessemer Trust, where she was Director of Hedge Fund Investments and Co-Head of Bessemer’s Alternative Investments Group. As Co-Head, she co-managed the 22-person team responsible for Bessemer’s global investment activity in hedge funds, private equity, and real estate/real assets.  Ms. Richards was also a member of Bessemer’s Investment Policy and Strategy Committee and was a member of, or chaired, all of Bessemer’s alternative investment fund Investment Committees.

Ms. Richards is a Member of the 100 Women in Hedge Funds Global Association and Foundations Boards and chairs the organization’s 100WHF Advisory Council.  She is a member of the Investment Committee of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation and a member of the Advisory Board of Northeast Dutchess Fund. Ms. Richards also serves on the Board of Directors of Cohen and Steers’ Mutual fund complex.

Ms. Richards received a BA from Georgetown University in English Literature.  She also completed Credit Suisse’s International Banking School Corporate Finance and Capital Markets Training Program.
